Tracy Miller began her career after attending San Diego State University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She later received her Master’s from the University of the Rockies.
Tracy has taken her past experiences and evolved into her position as the Specialist Liaison. All the roles she has held have been client/people-forward, and she has helped to guide and investigate to problem-solve, which she continues to excel in.
She currently lives in Pasadena, CA. Outside of work, Tracy is a Yoga teacher (loves to teach and take classes), avid baker and cook, and enjoys a good book.
Tracy’s focus is facilitating the collaborative relationships between the Planning Teams members and the Specialist Community.
Born and raised in Southern California (don’t hold that against me), I’ve spent most of my career building, rebuilding, and breathing new life into businesses across a range of industries. In 2022, I decided to take a step back and “retire,” relocating to Texas for what I thought would be a well-earned break.
That experiment lasted six months.
Then reality became clear: my time and expertise are most valuable when applied to the challenges facing successful families and business owners. I get excited about helping people – I’m a relationship person that thrives on connection. Helping people shape their ideas into something real and lasting is energizing and rewarding.
But what I do isn’t simple relationship management – as part of the Fortress Planning Team and operations coordinator for ACI Wealth Advisors, I help families develop and implement their vision of wealth architecture, helping create a brighter future for themselves and the people in their lives.
I have over 30 years of senior management experience in diverse markets, products, and businesses, including management roles in two Fortune 500 companies and leadership of more than 5,000 employees. My specialization is in identifying and fixing management and operational problems in multiple phases of the business cycle. This background helps me provide operational and macro perspective, including business cycle impact, on the investments ACI makes for client portfolios. I enjoy being a consultant for ACI and believe doing so has a positive impact on ACI investment decisions.
I was also part of the decision to systemize specific risk strategies to allow ACI to build custom portfolios for every client using a mix of risk adjusted portfolios, giving the firm a service offering unlike other fiduciary investment advisors. The power of customized investment portfolios is something everyone can benefit from. ACI is making that possible.
As former Vice Chairman of a $3 billion mortgage company, advisor on four private equity restructurings since 2018, I’ve guided businesses through strategic repositioning, operational optimization, & succession planning while navigating institutional capital structures under pressure. I’ve been the Chief Market Strategist at ACI Wealth Advisors since 2011, and I’m the Portfolio Manager for the ACI Bull Harbor Fund so I understand the impact that the right or wrong decisions can have on the success (or failure) of companies in multiple industries under a wide spectrum of market conditions. These are the same complex challenges that define wealth management at scale.
A 1995 University of Virginia graduate and serial entrepreneur, I’ve founded multiple companies and walked the same business & personal growth journey as many of our clients. Having operated at the C-suite level while building businesses or restructuring businesses, I understand both the entrepreneurial mindset that creates significant wealth and the institutional frameworks required to preserve it.
This dual perspective—combining operational experience with strategic planning expertise—proves invaluable when coordinating the moving parts of $5M to $100M+ family wealth. The same skills that guide complex corporate restructurings now architect comprehensive wealth strategies that can transform accumulated assets into lasting legacy.
